How do ukulele lessons work?

In ukulele lessons, we cover how to play chords, melodies, strumming patterns, and even how to play and sing at the same time! Ukulele is a popular instrument choice for both kids and adults, as the size makes it easy to transport, it is generally less expensive than a guitar, and the 4 nylon strings are easier to press down and have fewer shapes to master. Even better, the techniques and even some of the chord shapes you learn in ukulele are transferrable to guitar!

What levels do you teach?

All levels are taught here. From learning the basics of music, to your first chords, to mastering the technique of fingerpicking, and even learning to hold your own in a jam session, this is the right place to learn music!

What is the right age to start ukulele?

In general, by age 7, most children are ready to start music lessons. Because young hands are still growing, building muscles, and learning fine motor control, kids under 10 may find it more accessible to start on ukulele and then later transfer to guitar. Do I have to read music?

At CB Music Lessons, we believe reading is fundamental to understanding music. But don't worry, we dip our toes in with just a few notes at a time and we learn at the pace that is right for you. Lessons are a safe, encouraging environment for you to musically grow.
