When should my child start music lessons?

Most children are ready to start their musical journey by age 7. An ability to sit and focus for 30 minutes at a time, read and count, and a genuine interest in music are just 3 ways to tell your child is ready. What ages do you teach?

Ages 7 and up are all taught at CB Music Lessons. Our students range from elementary and home school students wanting personalized music lessons, to middle school and high schoolers receiving private lessons alongside school band, to adults seeking a new hobby or furthering their skills professionally.

Am I too old to start music lessons?

Music lessons are an excellent creative outlet for all ages. Humans are musical by design, and anyone can benefit from learning an instrument. All you need is an interest in music, a little time for lessons and practicing, and an open mind!

What instruments do you teach?

• Guitar (acoustic and electric)
• Ukulele
• Drum set (all styles and skill levels)
• School percussion (Mallets, Drum Line, UIL tutoring, etcetera. The studio is equipped with a 3 octave practice marimba for instruction.

How long are private music lessons?

Choose from 30 minutes, 45 minutes, and 1 hour. Youngerstudents are recommended to take 30 minute lessons. Older children may choose between 30, 45 minutes, or 1 hour. Adults are recommended to take 1 hour lessons.

Who are the instructors?

CB Music Lessons is owned and operated by Cassie Baker. I am a college educated musician of over 25 years. I have been teaching music in Austin, Texas for over 9 years. Read more about me in my bio!
